Sound Testers are qualified to MSc level in acoustics & Members of the Institute of Acoustics (IoA). We are members of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) & fully insured.
Soundguard Acoustics Ltd was started in 2008 by former NHS Audiologist Rob Shaddick, MSc, MIOA. The company is based in Bideford, North Devon & provides Sound Testing in Devon & across the South West. Other acoustic services, include Approved Doc E sound testing, building & architectural acoustics, sound proofing design, environmental noise monitoring, Noise control, workplace noise risk assessment & expert witness cases.

Rob Shaddick, MSc, MIOA is a Member of the Institute of Acoustics & holds an MSc in Applied Acoustics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Acoustics, & the IoA Certificates of Competence in both environmental noise assessment & workplace noise assessment. Rob is a former NHS Senior Audiologist & has been both director & the lead consultant within the company since incorporation in 2008. He has driven a Tuk Tuk the length of India, he has appeared on several TV game shows and he enjoys classic car trials events, hiking, surfing & strong tea in a proper mug.
